Gas is gonna get real expensive here.

Not going to lie... unlikely I'd have had the season I had this year if fuel was like this all season. That said, if I hadn't blown up a grip of generators and just paid the fuel prices without repairs it would have been cheaper in the long run...

My brother lives in Upland, ca. Just filled up his truck, 2024 gmc with duramax. $288. Pic of his gas station.

Just filled up my truck, same truck but 6.6 gas, $169. Paid $5.85 for 89.

He must not like money to fill up there. I put 22 gallons of 87 in my dually at costco over the weekend. $120. Gas was going up 10 cents or more a day.

He's lived there 30years.
I'm next door in Cucamonga. Except for one Chevron, no one is closer than 50 cents a gallon under their price for regular and diesel is 75 cents cheaper. I had to use gas buddy to search that high. That shell must be the highest price station in the area.

I live in Anaheim/Orange...I have the same truck as my brother but the Gas motor...paid $5.85 for 89 at the OSK around the corner from my house. Diesel is about $1 more.

I paid 5.59 here in Hesperia today it was more expensive down the hill by my work

well, then i guess your brother has big MAN balls and you little girly berries. LOL
It has actually worked out for me quite well since I don't tow heavy!
I have 45K miles on my truck and towing is only 5800 of that...weight is about 5-6K...so the diesel wasn't needed anymore.
I don't have check engine light anxiety, no more def, no regen, no more maintenance issues, etc...
When I ordered my truck all the sales guy had to say was the new diesels are less troublesome and I would have bought one, but instead shook my hand when I said I was ditching the diesel and he stated 90% of the guys that buy diesels don't use them for what they are intended, heavy towing WEEKLY and would gladly show me all the issues in the service dept!
So, my berries are all good!!!
LMAO 🍻

I have a friend who tows a 14k toy hauler with his truck almost identical to yours. Sees RPM, but has no problem maintaining 65mph over the I-8 grade here (0-4600', 8% grade, usually a strong headwind). MPG in the low teens. I drove it once with that trailer, zero issues merging on the freeway at freeway speeds. Too bad it's an ugly moofer. :ROFLMAO:

Diesel is nice, but not everyone needs to compensate. :ROFLMAO:

Unless I was towing over 12k consistently, then I might buy a Deisel. But the gas engines are very good now and the upkeep is half the cost. FYI, i have owned many Diesel trucks in the past

I'm pulling an 11,500 5'er with a 6.2 gas F350. I'd go faster uphill with a diesel, but I am pleasantly surprised with how well this truck pulls my trailer. And I have no DPF or DEF to worry about. 😁

I have a diesel Ram 2500 just because. I know, I know…. But there’s DEF (I probably put in 2.5 gallons every 4 months or so, but the maintenance costs are so high (I put all of 600 miles a month on the truck) , but the DPF (yup, I get her out on the highway and clear it out regularly, but oil changes are EXPENSIVE ( not if you do it yourself and only have to do one a year…. I love diesel trucks, don’t need one anymore since the trailer is gone but we do occasionally rent or borrow one and I do t have to worry about overworking the truck. At the rate I drive it, it should last 20 years or more. Paid cash for it new in 2024 because after all, it’s a Ram and they give them away if they sit on lots for long enough. Which is why it doesn’t make sense for me to get rid of it now. That being said, I’d probably trade it for a Raptor in a heartbeat. All of us have different needs …. If gas works for you, awesome…. If diesel is what you need, awesome…. Fuel costs suck right now and probably won’t get better any time soon. We drive a CRV hybrid and RAV4 most of the time which helps keep fuel costs down, but I feel awful for those that tow often and still do desert trips. We are on a temporary hold on desert trips since we are in the thick of college and high school sporting activities. We will get back eventually but at that point it’ll probably be flying cars so we shall see. Stay strong in these crazy times.

I had the gas 7.3 with a 10 speed. Towed my enclosed at around 11k pounds just fine. Gas mileage was in the 9s if there was no head wind. I did dump it and get the diesel 6.7. Mostly because I could tell my wife found out I had a small pee pee. The diesel is almost too much power for towing. If I don’t set cruise control I’ll end up doing 80 with barely pressing the pedal.
