I remember the Padres telling the local fans to take a seat when it came time to build their new stadium, union workers were bussed in from Los Angeles & NoCal to do the work. Fauck the Padres and their stadium.
 
The Ump won that game for the Cubs. Argue all the details you want but that was a bullshit call and that's how you fuck teams out of a good game, no matter who wins. All teams should be pissed about this, the Umps are blowing calls in MANY games this year.

You are right, they are a better team. I truly think Tatis is cancer on the team. He pouts all of the time, and his head just doesn't seem right. He also doesn't really interact with the team much in the clubhouse, he creates division in the clubhouse (this comes from a Pro Scout close to the team).

One thing I don't get about SD fans, why so much love for Preller, he hasn't brought even a Division championship to the team. The Bogaerts signing sucks, way too many long-term contracts, just look at Darvish, he is signed thru 2028, he will be 42 years old.

Now my thought on Arreaz, the guy can put the bat on the ball, but he shouldn't be hitting in the two hole, he should be in the 9th spot to turn the line up over, need more speed and slug in that position, I get they are trying to lengthen the lineup, but I'd rather see Merril there, just my thought, either way he is free agent and unless the Pads get a discount I think he will be gone?

You have to. Umps are making calls that completely change the game when incorrect. Calling Strikes that are 8" or more out of the box when the ENTIRE Stadium can see it as a Ball is complete bullshit and shouldn't be allowed. They should actually be fined, honestly.

That would be like a Ref calling your kids' opposing teams Goals when they are 8" out of the net. Why have a Goal a set size if the borders don't mean shit?

The current Human factor is 1930's Sports, plain and simple.

In hockey we have metal bars that clearly define the area.

I've seen the puck bounce off the back of the net or an inside bar and come back out...only to be called No Goal. Entire stadium of people losing their shit, LOL that game always gets much more intense afterwards or its the long drive home with a L.

It's part of the game. A WINNIG Team pushes past the little inconsistencies by a wide margin for a CLEAR WIN, this is not spinal equipment quality control we are talk about LOL

Sounds like the Human Element is incorrectly calling Hockey Goals, as well (bouncing off the back of the net).

Why have a Strike zone?

The Human element creates errors.

If an Ump is standing to the left of the Catcher and calls a ball thrown 8" out of the box and not even over the plate on the right side (out of view), that's complete bullshit... no matter the Team. That's primitive officiating, no other way to describe it in 2025.
 
"Umpires Suck" could be the off-season rally cry for the Padre, much better than "we can't score".
