Who did the lowered mini truck deal in the 1980’s?

93/97 started with 87 Toyota, 88 Nissan full walk thru .94 Toyota but also had my 86 Chevy on 38’s the whole time

Wasn’t my thing but I liked looking at them. Used to take 20 minutes for them to get over the 7 speed bumps on the road into our high school parking lot.

I was working full time at 16, I think I spent 125% of my pay on it. I had some sponsors that paid for stuff

In 1984-87, I had a 1980 Chevy Luv. Lowered with 60 series Yoko tires, 60 series was pretty thin back then. Took my MC to the track (Indian Dunes RIP) and rode all of the time. Most of my friends had lifted Toyotas, but that was out of my budget. Truck got stolen in 1987, never saw it again.

Yeah mine did too, recovered without a scratch. Then Toyota wrecked it when they were putting interior back in it and a new ignition. I got paid out twice and sold it. Worked out well. Bought an s10 blazer sold it quickly afterwards, then bought a 911, then bought a Toyota truck that I lifted to go to Glamis

I did it in the early 2000's. I had a Mazda B2200 that had shaved doors, tweed Interior and bagged all the way around. Laid frame on some 15's. Truck was a total bucket (Had 290K miles on it) but It was fun as shit to drive. No AC or PS and bounced all over the place but was fun in high school. Had a nitrogen bottle in the bed and could make the front hop about 3 inches. The good old days.

Nope, back then it was an '82 Toyota PU 4X4 with 22R 4 cylinder motor, manual trans. Snug-top Shell and carpet kit in back.

3" Body lift on 33's and stock gearing LOL.....Loved my first truck

My brother got My Mom's 1981 Toyota LONG BED 4x4 in High School, tossed a 7" Skyjacker lift on that biotch with some Alcoas and 35's. Stock gearing. Matching Camper Shell and Carpet kit.

I would give my left nut to have that truck back in my possession.

We never did the Mini Truck thing but had a few friends that did and had magazine Cover trucks. Greengo's old roomate, Nathan;

this was early 2000s, i was too young in the 80s.
still miss this truck, drove it to glamis with a quad in the back a few times, we would get some good looks when people went by our camp and see an aired out mini truck. would still love to have another bagged truck.

Dion of Kal Koncepts of California is still in Bakersfield and we use him for our fleet service trucks. All the old-school magazines are on his walls. He's big into jet ski's now.

80's?

I graduated HS in 75, and there were a bunch of mini trucks in the HS parking lot!

Most were beaters, so they had to have been late 60's or earlier 70's trucks?

Pretty sure some of em were Datsun's! There were at least two Chevy Luv trucks that I can remember, and one has a SBC in it.

High School was a Lot more fun in the 70's. 👍🏼
