***Boss man said we are looking for a new tech at our company and i have exhausted my contacts that i would consider referring. Figured rdp family might be a good place to start!

We are a small business but cover a large landscape of souther california in the Medical service field.

Details- Certified Medical Sales

-Service tech on our pumps and compressor side of the company.

-background in mechanics and electrical are a plus along with ability to look at something and see a solution or way to disassemble and reassemble, most items we touch dont have instructions anymore
- we are home based shop in murrieta
- someone who lives in the nearby towns would be your benefit for less drive to the shop. Murrieta, temecula, lake elsinore, menifee, hemet. Helps to be close for our 24hr service windows we provide.
- we offer 24hr service to customers but nobody is on call or mandatory to take service calls its a call or text in a group asking who wants to go and you decide.
- early 20s looking for a secure long run career
- hardworking and willing to learn
- on job training first year then testing for nitc credential, service van provided with fuel covered, ability to work solo and have a more flexible schedule after the first year plus the good raise after the year is completed and test passed.
- boss is military veteran and just wants hard work and honesty, all tech are around the same age and a fun environment
- mostly conservative employed company around 12 total employees.
- average days are daily overtime from 10hr to 12hr days with many longer days, 1.5x after 8hrs, double after 12hr, saturdays 1.5x 4hour minimum, sunday double time 4hour minimum also. Paid drive time which averages 4-5 hours a day so really physically working 5-6 hours in a 10-12 hour shift.
- most holidays, 2 weeks pto.
- semi annual bonuses
- 50% medical coverage
- 401k profit share kinda deal after i think second year. Fully vested after 5year
-6 figure potential
- consistent raises as time goes as you progress

** truthfully not sure what his planned first year starting rate is at but i am assuming variable depending on knowledge, if pretty green i wanna say 24-26$ per hour first year.***
Have seen first year guys making 70-75k after bonuses and OT around 50hrs a week

Maybe for someones son looking for a secure future and isn’t afraid of hot and cold mechanical rooms/roofs. Heavy lifting, Mostly comfortable around electrical control panels, competent with tools and can ready multimeters, do oil changes etc. All aspects will be trained hands on so no need to have a knowledge of all.

Cant think of to many more details but it is a great company with a lot of future security. Basically recession proof career.

I average 40k miles a year so a clean record and safe driver is needed as well.
Our area covers el centro to Santa Barbara, out to Bakersfield, some trips to fresno as well.

Bud...not to bomb your ad. But your asking some 30yo who probably has a family to be on call 24/7, make just over $20hr, and have a mechanical skill set to work on vacuums, and have a clean driving record? This MF'r is a felon, with evading marks. Not some dumbshit kid looking for a career

Reading that I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like you want a slave. There's nobody who will be available 24/7 for the same wages that McDonalds pays.

Ya i can agree with the view trust me and thats been mentioned over the years trust me. Its really an entry level trade job the first year. Which to my assumption is why it’s lower. It is more for the 22-25 year old kid looking for a career job that gets him out of his parents house or shared apartment, this is about as secure as a gov job.

First year is around 75k after bonuses. Get thru hands on training and on your own and work hard you should be around 100-110k. I can agree that a 30 year old with house kid and wife isnt gonna jump on this i know that.
Really not a slave work either considering most days are 4-5 hours paid drivetime if working a 10-12 hours shift your physically changing oil, taking readings, changing belts for 5-6 hours of your shift.
The hope is someone like the 2 kids we have already both 24-25 live at home no kids and wife just spending their checks on toys haha

Its a text or call from the office saying hey who is around and wants to go. Nothing mandatory or rotational.

I guess i can see some of the point. The two guys we have currently choose the mooch of their parents because it’s an easier path for them and would rather waste all their checks on off-road racing and vacations. They both make plenty to get out on their own if they wanted.

I guess i am a bit surprised nobody has a kid in their 20s that would take a year off learning a trade for 75k a year. I did it with a new house and kid on the way. I get things now are more expensive but possible.
I have friends in other careers at 30 still barely making 75k working service at dealerships, landscape jobs, retail etc.
i would like to see the boss offer more money to people for the position and he has in the past based on prior knowledge. My quote of pay per hour was based on a truly green person.

Sorry for a bit of discussion on this but to me seems like a good opportunity for anyone who doesn’t want to work union or get stuck in retail or fast food. The job aint hard.

Yeah have to take into consideration it's a Cali gig. But I dunno, I read the description and thought it was a solid offer. 75k for year 1 is money not afforded in any career without a bunch of education.

Being a dumb auto mechanic, I've been underpaid my whole life and didn't know what 100k was until I was in my 50s. Even today, I make great money when the work is there but lately it's starting to go away again. I'm at the top of the totem pole in my shop and some of my work is being diverted to lower paid techs for obvious reasons. I've never heard anyone say it out loud, but I feel the management would rejoice if I somehow just moved on. I'm sure Kraut_n_Rice can relate to that.

Working in a trade needs to be worth more that some shitstain working in HR. When it corrects..

Maybe @Grease Monkey can migrate some of the posts to a thread "why trades are dying"..you can run a register a QT for $20, why climb on a roof to fix some a/c to sweat your ass off for the same cash?..

Ya cali does make it tough. If i look in my immediate area we still have single bed apartments around 1800 a month. This job pays enough to do that have a small car payment and have some funds still for that first year especially of someone has a gf and has dual small income your doing pretty good here.

I know two of our seasoned guys get that same feeling at time as you and they know it that some of us younger guys get the bigger projects and they get the easier work load just because. I try to include them in jobs i do just to be involved and help!

Agreed! The damn suit guys from university of pheonix think they are gold and want 250k right outta the gate and think they run the world. My wife brother is like that and he is useless.

My group of friends and our young kids are all about trades and agree we want to try and do what we can to keep them in the mind set of hard work and something of value and hopefully the future will provide lots of opportunity for them in engineering, welding, electrical, plumbing, how to run your own trade business etc.

Because it doesn't pay what it used to. I'm in trade school for industrial automation courses. The kids in my classes (I'm 48) almost always don't have basic hands on, mechanical, or troubleshooting skills yet. For whatever the reasons, we will be importing our techs from somewhere else.
