Been kind of quiet about things recently, have had health issues in past but things have been pretty good the last 10 years. Type 1 diabetic for 45 years. So Dr tells me to check blood pressure at home, irregular heartbeat warnings galore on the machine. Cardiologist time, 5 Dr visits all kinds of tests. All is good, I have an extra heartbeat every once in awhile, hearts in great shape no concerns. He tells me get off the caffeine and come back in 18 months Was concerned about Cdl and nhra licenses, life in general. I’m all good. We can go fast again

Glad you keep up on stuff and get checked out!
Some people don't go and don't want to know what is wrong and hope for the best.
I do the blood panel every year and get checked out, also dermatology. Went in to get checked, they found melanoma on my neck! EFF!
They cut it out plus some extra!

I have the fun appointment today with the ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) I have had a ringing in my left ear for almost 3 months!
My Dr. looked in my ear and asked if I surf or did surf. I said yes for 15-20 years, go in my pool all throughout the year, but haven't surfed in over a year and am pretty much done with it.
Said I have what is called surfer's ear...growths that build up due to cold water over time. Yay...gonna see what they can do.
It's very irritating at night when it is all quiet. Like a white constant noise!
Then there is the whole prostate thing...shake shake shake after taking a leak...LMAO, but seriously when did this getting old bit start getting old?
Hahaha
54 years young, woohoo!

Once I hit 50, it's been a regular routine for me to see the Doc. Surprisingly, almost everything was good if not better.

2 years ago A1C was 7.0% now its 5.7%
LDL / HDL are not good, but no meds for them yet - I need to exercise and cut bad food out.
Weight went from 325 to 275 to currently 295, this is where I struggle most.
EFF GURD and my Hiatal Hernia, this is the worst of all the shit i deal with. On bad days, don't approach me, I'm all piss and vinegar.
My Cortisol sucks too, Always Stressed, Tired, Sleep shitty and Apnea goes from like a grizzly to silence.
Skin Doc has sliced off a few chunks, watching that now too.
My hearing is for shit, when there is allot of background noise, I say Huh, What? allot.

The fix for me is healthy lifestyle choices, better food and exercise. No fun in that.

If you can, try to walk at least a mile every day. or 30 min. I know it can be hard, but for me...I use it to just clear my mind.
It will help on the weight too.
Like anything, moderation especially with the fast food/processed food. Calories in VS calories out sort of thing!
You got this crusty!

Good job! Keep up the work!

As I always say...The "Live hard, die young" was a lie because here I am old, broken and in pain!

I've posted a couple threads on here from time to time on Men's health. Men ignore issues because we see it as a sign of weakness. I made my health a priority in late 2023. It's been a journey for sure and still getting some things worked out but I'm much better off than I was 2 and half years ago.
Almost down 50 pounds, off most my of my meds. I feel better and have a lot of my pain issues in check. My blood work looks great. Blood pressure down, cholesterol way down (no meds). Still balancing out hormone as I switched from injections to pellets.

If you're looking for the next boost or steps, hormone therapy and peptides are huge. They have really changed a lot for me.

My new girlfriend bought me this for my birthday.
I have always thought that the difference between an adventure and an ordeal is your attitude. I try to look at getting older as an adventure.
Sure, I have a number of the old guy medical issues but get blood work etc. and see my doctor for checkups at least once a year.
My biggest issue is that I have gained about 20 lbs in the last 6 months. My new GF likes to cook. However, being with her is a great adventure so I am adjusting my attitude once again.

Getting old ain't for pussies!!!

My daughter is in med school. One of the things she rags on me about is muscle mass.

Before 25, your body builds its own muscle. After that? It's use it or loose it time.

I try and walk 3-5 miles daily, lift weights and stretch every morning and eat as healthy as I can.

Today...

I just knocked out 50 push-ups. That's a new record for me!

I'll be 68 in July. Fuck getting old.

Father time can suck a fat donkey dick! 🖕💪
