Mac's Car Refresh

Not really. Still in a funk.

I got the alignment done and really only have a few things left. Bleed the brakes, fill the fluids, sand and powder coat a few more panels, and then dyno tune it.

I'm at that stage where it's almost done but every time I work on it, I feel something is wrong and the WHOLE thing needs to come apart and start over. I'm being stupid but I've put so much work into it, I want it perfect. I'm tired of putting money into it. There has to be a point where I say ENOUGH. I've even started looking at new and different cars thinking I want those now.

Anyone else go through this while building/rebuilding their cars?
i have your exact same issue lol. but i bought a brand new pro r, has 5.4 miles on it from the dealership (I've driven it on and off the trailer 3 times, that's it), and added a cage, cool i needed one, windshield yep need it, didn't like the liime green arms, pulled them and had them powdercoated, yep new prp seats, new bumper, lights, controller, stay flush mount, new paddles still in the boxes, new wheels, still in boxes, winch still in box, sent the ecu to whalen for tuning, ibexx clutch still on the workbench. and now im ready to sell it. adn the toyhauler, diesel, other gas truck, enclosed trailer.
To me this sport adds a ton of unwanted stress as im never happy. have never been happy with anything stock, except my daily driver.
so now im on the fence, to pull the trigger and exit the game finally. a quad was so simple, throw it in the back of the truck and go have fun, 5 gallons of gas and im done.
Now i find myself looking from trailer to trailer for something, moving a truck to do this, battery dead in the diesel from sitting, so now im effing with those today.
just not enough time in a year lol.
good luck, i feel your pain

Mac I Know the feeling.. Lately been in a funk myself. Not enough time in the dunes the past few seasons for me and Yes at times I question whether I should just stop but then The going thru the dunes, the people, the just being there fuels me for saying OK I ain't quitting Yet. I look forward too seeing ya This season Bro and You Flipping me off as always and that Big smile on your face bro

My ultimate love in the dunes was 2 wheels. 20 years of 2 wheels was where it was at. My body at 55 now says otherwise. A couple of young guys in camp (20 somethings) ride 2 wheelers. I'll jump on one during the season...miss it, then realize I'll pay for days if I get stupid again.

I'm definitely in a cage from here on out.

Enjoy the stress in life and the process of building something - if you finish it and you're not satisfied, move onto something new.

Champagne problems. :)
I have a whole lot of "Mac" problems... 😂 Ain't none of them cheap.

I hear ya. I don't recall ever flipping you off....😂 Not a person on here could find one reason to flip you, of all people off...lol

Stefanie keeps telling me..."once you take on the first ride again, you'll be back."

I am 71 still ride my dirt bike not in the sand anymore too damn much work now but I still like trail riding. I still think you will regret it if you sell the car I sold mine because of my wife’s health issues and still miss the sand.

Finish the car. There will be stuff to address after a shake down run.

If you don't have the desire...then list it when it's 100% and the season is here, it will sell if you go that route.

Your all about the process and journey, solving problems.

It might still be a problem, don't quit.....thats NOT you.

I like the old trail bike idea. I see old MC and MX bikes all the time that I'd love to work on...take for some easy rides then sit and stare at them in the garage.

Old cars, bikes, planes, sand toys etc are perfect things to occupy your mind.

I wish I had that free time.

So ...

Obviously someone hacked Mac's account, and has been posting under his nick!
