Carvana rant. Not even 10 minutes off the truck....

Better pics of that tire. Looks safe to send your family down the road doesn't it?

Carvana rant. Not even 10 minutes off the truck....

Correct I figured it needed two new tires already. But if the European place replace the tires like it said per the carfax report it should have tires with date codes of 2022 or maybe 2021. There's no way I'm believing they put 2015 tires on the car when they replace them.

Carvana rant. Not even 10 minutes off the truck....

Whoever prepped this car had no problem slapping armor All over this big chunk. Amazing. And 3 of the tires are 9 years old.

Carvana rant. Not even 10 minutes off the truck....

Curious about anyone else that has carvana experience out there. How much bull is it when they say they do a full inspection. I can't believe they let us have this car with this huge chunk out of the tire. They give you 7 days to return it. There is a bunch of other work supposedly got done to...

Carvana rant. Not even 10 minutes off the truck....

So this is the post I just put on facebook. All right I'm going to vent and rant a little bit here. So with us selling the shop I'm going to have to bring all the cars home and use up the garage space. Meaning we have to sell Christys convertible because we can't leave it out in the heat...

1967 Dodge A-100 Hot rod sort of rat rod build thread.

Finally after about 3 weeks back and forth I just got insurance put on this truck. Stated value policy way way lower than what I have in it or what it would take to build but at least it has some coverage.

Certainly some work to do but the wiring has come a long long way. Spencer has been killing it. Tremendous amount of work to wire this whole truck and everything that is on it. I have the patina shop logo and all the back bolts for the cradle torqued for final hopefully.

I made the transmission shift cable bracket out of three pieces of 1/8 steel. Super strong.

1967 Dodge A-100 Hot rod sort of rat rod build thread.

Once I drilled in roughly 5/8 of an inch that steel got super hard. Regular drill bit would not even drill it in the lathe. Had to go slow with it chattering like crazy. Even the back side tapping for the set screws that is some really strong steel. Probably work hardened from all the heat as...

    1962 Corvette Resto Mod build

So a funny story. When I put the supercharger on my 02 ZO6 I did a dual disc McLeod clutch to handle all the extra power. Called them up and said do I need to balance it they said no. Well I put the damn thing together and it had a slight vibration at about 2500 to 3,000 RPM. Of course on that...

So weight on the car should be around 3,100 lb. Pretty light. Stock GM vibration mount versus the dense urethane mounts.

Base tune is done and has not gone on the dyno yet. Motor sounds real good other than I feel a slight mechanical vibration. Jury is out whether it bent the crankshaft or not. It's not uncommon for these motors to vibrate in the later model trucks. They have those big crazy motor mounts and this...

    1962 Corvette Resto Mod build

Well this car got started 5 years ago roughly and it has been an absolute fight to the death to try get a drivable car put together. Spent the last four or five days swapping motors. All I did was change the oil pan. Put the motor in and this is what the balancer look like running on the front...

Although leaving the dod in it and those factory lifters it will really limit the RPM on this thing. Probably around 5600-5800 RPM Red line. That will be interesting.

    1962 Corvette Resto Mod build

Well after screwing around all morning at least I got something done today. I would say she needs an oil pan anyway. Lol. Even this motor stock with a set of headers will make high 300s and 400 torque. No slouch for that light little car. Have to decide if we're going to run the variable valve...
