just because the tranny was rebuilt doesn't mean the shifter is set up correctly, the stops set right, or the cables are not what they should be have those checked out before you get another $5k tranny build

Subaru and S5, i use the clutch every shift, its just easier on my brain and my tranny. sure i could shift with the best of them without a clutch but i feel using the clutch is a slam dunk on every shift.

how did you check your wastegate? just checking it at the port with pressure doesn't count i agree that the reference hose could be compromised, then over boosting. you could take the wastegate off all together and go drive it and if no CEL then you have a over boosting issue
