    The official Honda Thread

P2R makes nice stuff, and probably cheaper than I can make my own, when you factor in time, materials, and programming/machining.

Question on waste gate hook up, new turbo

I am glad I came across your post DB69. I am currently staring at my new turbo build and was considering moving my reference port to a different place this time, closer to the manifold. I had never heard or seen people doing it different than the turbo compressor, though. I will explore John's...

    Subaru timing belt

I am putting my early 2000's (2003-2005?) Subaru sohc n/a 2.5 engine back together. The new timing belt I bought is a Gates T304. The belt I am replacing is a Gates T307. (I built the engine wit the T307) They both have 223 teeth and are the same width. Both seem to have the same shape profile...

    Sandcar shipping

Thanks y'all for the input. These are actual concerns I have, that you have confirmed. I had a rail shipped from Washington state years ago, and it was a disasterous nightmare. I have forgotten most of the details, so your experience helps me to try to be cautious. This is a pic of the car.

    Sandcar shipping

Can anyone help me with suggestions/advise about who to contact to ship a sandcar from California (Apple Valley, I think) to Little Sahara sand dunes in Oklahoma? I need to get an idea about cost.

    Quick release steering wheel hub

Does anyone use this hub? The male spline is 1.3" in diameter. It has a spline count of 30. (I may have asked this question before) I bought it at a sprint car shop, but haven't been able to find a replacement. I have replaced the pins, but it still gets stuck. I have done the usual searches and...

    Projects around the shop

Oh yeah, well I built a "mobility cart" for my pet skunk that is having issues with nerves in her back legs!! (Does that count?) All aluminum, brass, and velvet.

    "pull type" clutch issue

I think mine was listed as an 05-2016 Legacy Spec B, so it is different than the one in the ad you linked. I had never seen that before, but the 6 speed is new to me. I definitely don't need anything above 3rd, but the case is definitely stronger than the 5mt. My buggy is light with low hp, so I...

    "pull type" clutch issue

I swapped to a Subaru 6 speed transaxle in my mid engine buggy. I used the stock clutch and slave cylinder. It pulled the throw out bearing apart after a short run. Does anyone here have experience or knowledge of a pull type clutch? I have studied this on the bench and cannot really understand...

Fur babies. You have them. Lets see'em!

This is Sissy. (Skunk) She turns 8 years old in a few months. Real sweetheart. And Swifty, my dog. (Loves the dunes) And even though my German Wirehair, Blitz, has passed, I still have to include her

    BMW sandcar

I saw a BMW powered sandcar in a ad several years ago. I can't seem to find it now. Does anybody know of any? I am trying to find out how to adapt a transaxle, and what kind, to a BMW N20 engine. Kennedy says they only make one for a 2002 1.6L and 3.0L. And those are only for VW trannies.

    Subaru 5mt front differential question

20211020_184449.mp4 I have mentioned this before, but I run a stock Subaru 5mt, that I have converted to 2wd, in my mid engine sandcar. I finally broke it last week. I think the diff broke in half, not sure yet. I have considered swapping to the sti ra 6 speed, but that creates problems at...

    Clutch pedal limit stop

Budlight, you will laugh at mine, if you haven't noticed it before. It was an emergency fix at the dunes. I need one because I still use the old cnc pedals with a stock Subaru slave cylinder, on a Subaru trans. It worked, so I just left it.

    Share your personal fabrications/builds?

2TurboFords, did you go from beam front to a-arm? I have a buddy that designed and builds "replacement" a-arm suspension.  And to any critics, yes he knows his geometry!  (I don't) Funny, I was going to list "gates for your house" in the header for this thread. That bike reminds me of the...

My newest air filter. The sides will be enclosed with a short tube attached for air inlets to each side. So I can use normal pre-filters on them. Budlight-foot rest?

Subarugears.com reverse rotation ring and pinion conversion

This may not help you much, but I run a stock mt5 that I modified for my sandcar. It is mid engine, though. I removed the center diff, locked the shafts, and installed a 4.44:1 ring and pinion. My last motor dynoed at 245hp/258 ft/lbs torque to the hubs. I am not a drag racer or a clutch dumper...

Those are all perfect examples.  I "modified" an aluminum flatbed trailer for my buggy, but EVEN I am too embarrassed to show it!!! Yours is much nicer. This is another set of headers I just built. Hoping they pass the dyno test.

Bobalos, I have followed your mods on here. Like it! Rockwood, I hope all turned out ok. I dune with an awesome bunch of guys, from all over. Mostly all self built cars. Those that aren't have their own special characters. I hope my duning buddy from Wichita will show his passenger side...
