SpecTrain, Level-Up Pistol Class (Billy Barton)

I signed up for the Billy Barton Level-Up 2 day Pistol class (https://www.spectrain.us/level-up-pistol). it was held @ Burro Canyon shooting range in the San Gabriel Mountains (North of Azusa).

Billy is a GREAT instructor. He is super flexible & pushes each student with the right amount of push for their skill level. He is very well versed & practiced at his trade & it shows. His demo's are spot on & amazing what he can do on demand. He makes sure that we stay on task, & that everyone knows what their homework is & is able to self guide as they take their skill back to their home and home ranges. I took some video which I will try to post up later (if any of it came out well @ all). there was one A-Class shooter there & I would say the rest were more like Low B to C class shooters.

it does not seem like he does a whole lot of training here in CA (or on the west coast), so if your interested getting in on one of his classes I would suggest being prompt. If anyone has any questions about the class or anything, please feel free to post up here. I would 100% recommend Billy's classes. the dude is a fantastic instructor (Unlike the lass class, which I would not spend another dime with).

Day 1: we ran a quick stage, to gauge skill level, scored it all, then went to the other bay to start doing drills. this day is mostly about shooting static & fundamentals of shooting. not super basic how to shoot, but getting into fine details of shooting. @ the end of the day, we ran the stage again, to gauge improvement & apply the skill we ran. this was 9 hours at the range in the sun @ 85*.

Day 2: he changed up the stage a bit, & we ran it again. We went back to the other bay to work on more drills, this day is more about movement. then @ the end of the day, we went back & shot the stage over again. after 8 hours of movement drills I was completely gassed & didnt have the band width to do well here. its super clear I need to work more on the physical aspect. this was another 9 Hour day in the CA sun, but fortunately it was a bit cooler (79*).

I didnt take a bunch of pictures, I was focused on taking notes & following the instructions, but I have a couple that might be kind of interesting.

while cruising through some of his stuff I found this class on his Youtube channel. obviously this is not the class I was in, but this is the same material. It will give you an idea of what he teaches & how he teaches it.
