It's Saturday April 18th 2026.. What is everyone doing this weekend?

Just returned from the gym and going to fire up the smoker. I’m having some gym friends for bbq, drinks, and games to celebrate the grand opening of my man cave. In the evening, going for a river walk with my family- maybe a few friends.

Sun: early workout session then to Gatlinburg for the Rod Run!

Mon: all day fun with my son- bike ride in the am then Mario movie, bowling, arcades, etc. to celebrate my birthday.
Have fun at the Rod Run! I have been to Shades of Past years ago. My buddy had a few Cobras and we used to go to it. I am from the Asheville area. I also used to ride the quads out at Windrock in Knoxville.

I finally got to look at the chain whack on the banshee. It saved the case but took a chunk with it. It really hurt my feelings. My buddy is working the race out in Long Beach so I will head up there tomorrow to see him.

Worked on upgrading the thumb pivot on my big excavator. The original thumb only had a 7” wide connection with no bushing. It wore out the metal. I widened it to 13” wide and installed some HD 65mm bushings and seals. Getting ready to paint this part of the dipper. Then I can move on to building the thumb with wider spacers. Cost of bushings, laser cut 3/4” side plate and 4.5” diameter 1” thick tubing has already got to $800. Plus a mobile welder to come out and lay the weld down. He welded for 2.25 hours straight. I’m well over a grand just for the upgraded pivot

Put a new set of tires on the Tahoe, had spa delivered, did a little car shopping then had dinner at moms house.

Couldn’t get the car to the number I wanted so I walked away but hoping I get a call tomorrow that the Manager made it work.

Micro stub bearing failed badly behind olds last weekend - thankfully was able to limp slowly to the flats and get it on a flatbed. Taking these things out is a PITA, tried a tweaker bolt remove trick - and it helped a little bit. If anyone has tricks let me know. Also - i changed out the other side as it had a little slop 2 trips back, should have replaced both.

Long story short.
Got up at 3:30 am loaded the car with gifts.
Left the house at 5:00 am, drove to Poway Ca.
(To miss the traffic)
Stopped in Poway for breakfast at 7:15 am.
Futzed around until 10:00 am for the birthday party
for my now, "One Year Old" Great Grandson Alexander.
Headed back after the meet and greet, home by 2:15.
(Traffic headed South of Camp Pendleton was brutal this afternoon.)
Glad I was going North.
I discovered my Grandson has started an "Orange Grove".
To be honest, it's a small start. I expect free oranges soon.

Removing all the swoop & hook vinyl decals from the RV. Almost done with passenger side, just have the black/grey ones left to do. Definite ghosting in the gel, guess I'll see how bad it is after I cut/buff it. I can live with it if mildly visible.
PSA: GraphXOff is the only shit that works to take off the majorly cracked decals, unquestionably the only product that penetrated through the decal. None of the other recommended "adhesive removers" touched them. Waiting the 30 minutes after applying was the key to scraping the decal off like soft butter.20260419_092317.jpg20260419_092405.jpg
