Someone is having a bad day at vendors

I just saw the smoke from Pad 5; hopefully nothing too serious.

That shit is scary. I seen one go up in front of me in less than 15 seconds... Was just a ball of fire

Wow...........Glad it appears everyone is safe....what a shitty way to lose your stuff.

This sucks, but also the chance you take when you leave your stuff out there all season. There is no other place I can think of on Public lands that you would leave $100k plus rigs parked without security of some sort for 5 months a year. Sorry for being harsh.

Ouch. That won't buff...

Hope no pets were inside.
Don't think there were. Facebook was looking for somebody with 5th wheel hitches to come over and help move rigs so they could save a few of them. In other words, only thing lost were a couple trailers and a few ghosts

What is going on lately with these things going up in smoke???
Seen more this year than it seems in the past.
Is it just neglect, incompetence, bad luck, doing dumb shit and dumb shit happens, Lightning strike...seriously WTF????
I hope everyone is safe.

Lithium batteries can add a lot of volatility if things go wrong (no idea if they even had them). The dude that installed our Victron Multiplus did a great job on the install but didn't know shit about setting them up lithium batteries. Thankfully, our Epochs have a fantastic BMS and intervened in the charge process. The Victron is capable of charging at 120a so things can go bad pretty quickly. I was able to log in to the batteries BMS and see that they were fully charged but the Multiplus was still in bulk mode and sending 85a to the battery when it was sitting at 14.5v already.

The installer asked for the manual so he could input the correct charge settings but apparently he was using numbers he invented. I ordered the VE.bus and had it configured by the book about a week later and all was good. Not all batteries have such a high quality BMS (or any at all) but I would have killed a lesser battery at best and had serious issues at worst if I had relied on the installer.
